Your day to day

At the moment we're looking for a Chef de Cuisine ( Garde Manger) to join our energetic, enthusiastic and passionate team at InterContinental Hotels Dubai Festival City .

As a Garde Manger, your primary responsibility is to prepare, serve and store cold larder items whilst directing junior members of the kitchen brigade.

The key responsibilities are:

  • Prepares, presents and stores appetizers, savories, salads, sandwiches, dressings and sauces

  • Provides direction to the Kitchen Cooks, and Stewards

  • Prepare and presents cold items for buffet

  • Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships

  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned

  • Maintain and monitor food items and raise item request through the FBM system

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following qualifications and experience we're looking for:

Required Skills:

  • Well experienced in making canapés basic sauces, salads, etc.

  • Self-motivated, innovative with a high drive for results

  • Must have general knowledge of food cost

  • Diplomatic team player and able to foster relationships with colleagues and guests

  • Technical literacy, including MS word, excel and presentation

  • Works with the same field in hotel industry

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work with different cultures and environment

  • Excellent in communication skills

  • Very passionate about his/her role

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same role

  • Must have obtained the highest PIC certification
