KEY RESPONSIBILITIESJob Summary – (Role Summary) • As a waiter/waitress you are an important member of the team. As you will have the most contact with the customer during their dining experience, it is essential that you are polite and courteous when you welcome them into the dining room, during the service of the meal and remember to always thank them when they leave. • Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests and ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards.• Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures. • It is extremely important that you work as a team member; provide polite and efficient service at all times to maintain the exceptional standard of service and quality. Any queries or question a customer may have, which you cannot answer, should be passed on to a supervisor.Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role)• Deliver Food and Beverage service of high standard and in accordance with departmental standards and procedures• Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest comments and other relevant information • Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships• Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled• Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled• To work in the outlet, working as a team, to take orders, set, serve and clear tables and deal with the exchange of bills and money• Assist in loading goods and stores pick up• Co-responsible for cleanliness in restaurant area• Customer-oriented• Prepares for service by ensuring:o Grooming is impeccable and in accordance with ICHG personal presentation standards o Outlet equipment is cleano Equipment is sorted and storedo Glassware is polished o Flatware is polished o China is clean o Waiter stations are preparedo Cutlery is placed for buffet and table serviceo Tables are seto Reservations are read and familiarizedo Special occasions are readyo Music is ono Lighting is ono Outlet is ready for service and guest comforto Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.o Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.o Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.o Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.• Carries out effective service by ensuring:o Guests are greeted with a smile and seatedo Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.o Daily specials are explained and upsoldo Orders are taken properly & repeated.o Food orders are processed accurately & provided to guest in standard timeso Trays and tray jacks are effectively usedo Food orders are taken quicklyo Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.o Collect payments from customers.o Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.o Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.o Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
