Your day to day

As Junior Sous Chef (Asian Cuisine) , you will be under the supervision of the Executive Chef and will be responsible to manage the Jing Asia kitchen operations achieving business objectives through customer focused service delivery. Your key responsibilities are as below.

  • Manages and supervises All Day Dining kitchen team, under the direct guidance and instructions of the Executive Chef.

  • Supervise activities of assigned staff, communicate goals, and assign/schedule work. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.

  • Assist with employee selection, training and development, and performance coaching.

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

  • Maintain updated and accurate recipes and costing of all dishes prepared and assist in developing new menu concepts for the restaurant buffet and theme nights

  • Oversee methods of preparation, portion sizes, and timeliness of food preparation; control food usage to minimize waste.

  • Interact with outside contacts:

  • Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction

  • Vendors – to order supplies and equipment and ensure best prices and quality

  • HACCP team – ensure safety and hygiene compliance

What we need from you

You should have an extensive experience in International & Asian cuisine as well as two to three years of experience as a Senior Chef De Partie in a 4 to 5 star hotel or restaurant; preferably with International and UAE exposure. In addition, the candidate should have strong management skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment, proven knowledge of food cost control & HACCP regulations; and passionate about achieving guest satisfaction through creative culinary offerings.
